Our Food

Our food is made fresh every day in our kitchens. We use locally sourced fresh ingredients where possible. We bake our bread & scones bright and early every morning so they’re almost still warm when you get them! Our salads are prepared from the mornings fruit and veg delivery and their dressings are all individual to the salad they accompany. Our cakes & treats are baked from scratch in our own kitchen and we believe that standard & consistency is paramount to maintain the quality of our cakes so that you always get the same delicious bite!

We believe in using local ingredients including cheeses, bacon and vegetables and put these into our quiches and lunches. When the hens are good to us, we use our own eggs in our daily baking. All produce is made frequently to avoid bulk manufacturing and to keep that fresh taste.  You will find our takeaway options now available in our fridge including our salads and sandwiches!

Anne Zagar

Anne’s life has always centred around food… Born in Stavanger, Norway and she then moved to New Orleans. Both cities have very different but equally intriguing attitudes to food and what makes it special. Having started working in restaurants and hotels from a young age her curiosity only grew with experience behind the scenes in kitchens. After her first summer cooking in a busy seaside hotel she decided to attend Ballymaloe Cookery School. This course opened doors and it wasn’t long before she was working in a proper professional kitchen. As time went by, her journey brought her to The Pavilion Garden Centre. There lay a small café, nestled in the lush countryside of Ballygarvan, Co. Cork that had a growing passion for good fresh food.
She began work with us at The Pavilion in November 2010, however, shortly afterwards, her curiosity peaked again and she moved to London and attended the ‘Le Cordon Bleu’ Patisserie course. This was an intensive course that took most of the year. Since completing the course she has moved back to Cork and back to The Pavilion to cook & bake for the people of Cork and beyond!
