The Health Benefits of Sourdough Bread
Did you know that sourdough breads are known to be a healthy alternative to regular brown bread? Our friends in Arbutus Artisan Breads have researched the health benefits of sourdough and have come up with some rather interesting information!
Sourdough bread is leavened by a starter that contains natural yeasts and acids. The airbourne yeast creates the enzymes needed to eat up or predigest some of the toughest-on-your-belly parts of the grain. This action creates carbon dioxide which gets trapped in tiny pockets of dough, resulting in a natural rising of the bread.
Arbutus Bread is now freshly delivered to The Pavilion Garden Centre Cork.
We are so delighted to have a variety of Arbutus Artisan Bread available for our customers to choose from. The scent of freshly baked bread is a hearty welcome to each and all in the morning.
This Lemon and Pistachio Yoghurt Cake is so delicious and is always a resounding success in our Café!
The subtle taste of yoghurt and the zingy after taste of the lemon rind and juice give this cake such interesting flavours. Do try to be good though and not eat all the pistachio’s after your hard work shelling them!
The most amazing chocolate brownies you may have ever tasted!
They are even a little guilt free with a blend of beetroot & apple and our favourite fruit juice, Ballyhoura apple and beetroot juice! A marriage made in heaven!!!!
