Sowing info: Sow February to March in pots or trays of moist seed compost and cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost. Keep at a constant temperature of between 20-25ºC (68-77ºF). During germination, allow the temperature to reduce at night. After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 3-15 days.
 
Growing info: Alternatively, you can sow indoors in late winter/early spring for earlier flowering. Sow individually into 7.5cm (3") pots at 20-30°C (68-86°F). When well grown, gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions before planting out after all risk of frost.
 
Aftercare info: When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3") pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12") apart.
