Stipa tenuif ‘Pony Tails’ are a light feathered grass, a soft cloud of swaying blooms on top of delicate stems. It adds movement to the garden, mixing beautifully with other shrubs & perennial’s in the garden. Stipa will soften garden edges and is suitable to be grown in containers also. When Autumn arrives, the grass turns to shimmering gold. 

Stipa tenuissima Pony Tails is a compact & clump-forming, deciduous grass with very fine foliage. It’s airy flowers emerge jade-green in late Spring, gradually turning straw-coloured in autumn, the long bristles flowing in the breeze. Stipa are particularly useful for joining a planting scheme together. Cut back old foliage in early spring to allow the fresh stems to come through
