How to use
Place the compost discs in a bowl and slowly add water. The disks will absord the water and expland. Leave for 5 minutes, then pour away any excess water. Fill plant pot with compost and firm down. Wet compost thoroughly and allow to drain. Plant 3 seeds 0.5cm below soil surface in triangle pattern towards the centre of the pot. Place pot into wodden cube. Cover the pot with cling film to keep humidity high.
Place the cube on a warm windowsill, periodically checking compost is moist. Once seedlings have germinated, remove cling film and allow seedlings to grow to approx 2cm. Select the strongest seedling to keep and carefully prick out the others. Remember to keep your chilli watered and compost moist. Once your plant has grown and started to produce flowers, feed with Big Tom tomato feed to boost your crop.
Plant the seed
Growing vegetables from seeds is a great family activity that teaches children about the importance of sustainable living and the process of how plants grow. By involving kids in planting, watering, and taking care of the seeds, they learn valuable skills and gain appreciation for the food they eat.
Grow your own
Growing vegetables from seed offers numerous benefits such as access to a wider range of varieties, increased yields through succession planting, and the ability to experiment with plant breeding. In addition, you can make efficient use of space and timing in your garden by interplanting vegetables with different growing habits and maturity rates. So why not consider growing your vegetables and flowers from seed!
