Mallow Festival - Rose Garden

Mallow Festival - Rose Garden

Designed by: Catherine Shiels, Creative Director at The Pavilion

The timeless charm of roses - this garden is a joyful retreat where every shade of pink is lovingly embraced. With structure, softness and scent intertwined, it is a space for celebration and reflection alike.

The garden’s structure is shaped by sculpted balls and topiary of Buxus. Two statement containers burst with life, planted with Dianthus ‘Tickled Pink’, trailing Hedera, soft-petalled Geraniums, feathery Dryopteris ‘Crista The King’ and the silvery hues of Salvia, each chosen for texture, fragrance and contrast.

Lush hanging baskets complete the setting, adding playful dimension and continuous seasonal colour above the eye line. The heart of the garden is enveloped in the scent of roses. Princess Alexandre Renaissance (Pouldra) anchors the space with her old-world charm, while the delicate, full blooms of climbing roses ‘The Mill on the Floss’ and ‘James Galway’ dance along trellises. A gentle crescendo of pink roses create a layered, immersive experience throughout the space, filling this garden with a sense of peace, beauty and joy.

Planting choices: Dianthus ‘Tickled Pink’, Hedera, Geranium, Dryopteris ‘Crista The King’, Salvia, Buxus (ball and topiary), Princess Alexandre Renaissance (Pouldra), Climbing Roses ‘The Mill on the Floss’ and ‘James Galway’, Mixed Pink Roses
