Bare-root season is the best time of year to plant trees and hedging. The plants are lifted from the field while dormant and come to you without a pot. They’re lighter, better value and easier to handle than container plants. Planted between November and March, they settle in over winter and grow away strongly in spring.

Our bare-root range covers native trees, hedging and shrubs, all from carefully selected nursery stock. They’re ideal for new hedges, wildlife planting, shelter belts and adding trees to your garden.

Planting tips: Soak the roots in water for an hour before planting. Plant at the same depth the tree was growing, firm the soil well around the roots and water in. For extra help getting started, ask us about mycorrhizal fungi.
