About Skylarks
The Eurasian skylark is widespread across Europe. In looks, both the male and female are dull, greyish-brown streaked on top and breast with off-white bellies. But in flight, they are awe-inspiring, and the species is renowned for the male's acrobatic song flight that he displays to proclaim the pair's territory.
Skylarks live in open farmland and heath, even nesting far from trees or bushes in a shallow depression directly on the ground. After the female has built the nest, she lays three to five eggs that hatch after about 11 days. The chicks are ready to fly after 18-20 days.
