In 1998, after thirty years of experience in the sector, Urbano Corradossi founded Archeo in the European Green Capital of Pistoia, Italy, which has an age-old tradition of floriculture dating back to medieval times. Keeping with true traditional craftsmanship, Impruneta clay is used to make these uniquely coloured products to evoke the magic of the Tuscan landscapes, countryside and traditions: the red of Impruneta terracotta.
Archeo pots are renowned for their extraordinary ability to resist frost and weathering throughout the harshest of winters. This is possible because the raw material is very rich in mineral salts essential for resistance, while the handwork allows for a considerable porosity of the terracotta and consequently its high transpiration.
